AS one of the region’s leading luxury restaurants, we're often asked for our recipes or techniques to create our lovely restaurant dishes.
Now we're offering foodies free cooking masterclasses, taking them behind the scenes to recreate professional techniques in their own kitchens.
Heifer at Home sees our Head Chef Craig Keenan lead viewers in a series of masterclasses which give short tutorials on how to cook the perfect steak, how to prepare and cook a lobster, filleting a fish, cooking the perfect scallop and working with oysters.
With each ingredient, he will also show how to prepare the perfect accompaniment or sauce to complement the dish.
Owner and Chef at The Wensleydale Heifer, David Moss, said: “Each film is a short, four-minute introduction into how to create these delicious dishes in the home environment. We get asked all the time how we prepare many staple parts of our dishes, and we wanted to share our knowledge.
“We took Craig out of his professional kitchen and had him prepare the dishes in an everyday home, using the same equipment most of us have available. They’re a great way to learn the secrets of the professional chef and translate them to home cooking.”
The films will be released onto the Heifer’s YouTube channel every two weeks, beginning this week. To celebrate the launch there is also a competition which will run on the hotel’s Facebook page where viewers can win an overnight stay, with dinner, for two people.
